ECOM and Nespresso: Supporting regenerative agriculture among coffee farmers in India
In September this year, ECOM’s SMS team in India joined Nespresso in Karnataka for an event focused on Nespresso's Sustainable Quality Plan, bringing together 250 coffee farmers to receive the AAA premium and learn about regenerative agriculture practices.

The event provided an opportunity to recognise farmers’ contributions to the coffee supply chain while sharing practical knowledge to support more resilient farming systems. Scientists from the Coffee Board of India and local agricultural universities led training sessions on regenerative agriculture, helping farmers explore practices that support soil health and more sustainable coffee production.

Discussions highlighted key priorities within Nespresso’s approach, including decarbonising the coffee value chain, restoring landscapes, empowering communities and advancing circularity.
Through our SMS activities, ECOM works alongside partners and farming communities to share agricultural knowledge and support the adoption of more sustainable farming practices. The event reflects the role of collaboration in strengthening coffee-growing communities and supporting the long-term resilience of coffee supply chains.
We'd like to thank Nespresso, the participating farmers, and the local agricultural experts for their collaboration.
