CAMSA celebrates 26 years!

This year, CAMSA, our subsidiary in Peru, celebrates 26 years of a history shaped by its ability to adapt, grow and evolve alongside the country’s coffee and cocoa supply chains.
For over two decades, markets, consumers and industry expectations have changed significantly. Today, issues such as traceability, sustainability, ethical production and deforestation-free supply chains are increasingly central to the industry.
For Priscillia Morisset, Regional Country Manager for Peru & Ecuador, one of CAMSA’s greatest achievements has been its ability to respond to this changing environment: “What I am most proud of is having built a team and a culture that is not afraid of change, that stays attentive to new challenges and continuously looks for solutions.”

Over the years, CAMSA has been part of significant transformations across the coffee and cocoa sectors, while continuing to balance the ambition of creating positive impact with the need to remain competitive.
An evolution built on learning
Randall Camacho, who has held various different roles during his tenure at CAMSA, describes its evolution as an organic process shaped by opportunities, learning, successes and, at times, difficult moments. “CAMSA has demonstrated tremendous resilience: facing challenges, learning from them and always having the determination to continue building our future.”
For Randall, an important part of CAMSA’s legacy also lies in the talent it has developed over the years and in an entrepreneurial spirit that has remained central to its identity. Initiative, innovation and the ability to find solutions continue to be defining characteristics of its teams.

Growing alongside producers
Looking ahead, Priscillia sees a major opportunity to continue strengthening CAMSA’s relationship with the >7,000 producers it currently works with. The challenge is to keep developing solutions that help improve productivity, incomes, access to technology and financing, while at the same time connecting market expectations with the realities faced by producers: “The role of our team is fundamental: they are the ones in the field, building that trust with producers day after day.”
For her, creating lasting impact starts within the organisation itself: with empowered, skilled teams that have the space to innovate.

The value of being part of ECOM
CAMSA’s evolution is also closely connected to its place within ECOM. Being part of a global network makes it possible to connect knowledge, experiences, markets and people from different origins, while maintaining the ability to develop solutions locally. “When we connect across origins, it becomes a real powerhouse of knowledge and solutions. That is where the true strength of the group lies,” says Priscillia.
Randall agrees that this relationship has been fundamental. CAMSA has benefited from ECOM’s support and knowledge, while also contributing innovation, talent and experience from Peru: “One of the greatest values of being part of ECOM has been having the support of a global group without losing the ability to be entrepreneurial, innovate and build locally.”

26 Years Built by People
Looking back, both agree on one essential element: people. Teams, producers, customers and partners have all played a part in a history built on learning, resilience and the ability to adapt.
As Randall reflects: “After 26 years of sharing in its successes, difficulties and challenges, it is difficult not to feel part of CAMSA.”
Today, CAMSA celebrates what it has built while looking ahead with a commitment to continuing to evolve, strengthening its teams and creating value across Peru’s coffee and cocoa supply chains. Its story continues to be written alongside the people who make it possible.
