How Integrity Shaped ECOM's Partnerships in Ivory Coast
ECOM’s longstanding success as a global company is rooted in a strong set of core values. These values guide not only how we work together internally but also how we collaborate with our partners and clients around the world.
This month, we’re highlighting how one of these values, integrity, has shaped and sustained our enduring partnership with Ecookim, a trusted supplier in Côte d’Ivoire.
Our relationship with Ecookim began in 2004, the same year the cooperative was founded. Over time, they also established a direct relationship with Ferrero, a company we have worked with since 2002. As their collaboration with Ferrero grew, they turned to ECOM as a strategic partner that could provide the commercial expertise and operational support needed to navigate client expectations, contracting, and the complexities of international trade.
This relationship is built on mutual trust. Ecookim ensures a consistent supply of high-quality beans and maintains strong relationships with its cooperatives, while we provide the framework and expertise needed to meet international clients' expectations. Through this partnership, we have strengthened Ferrero’s supply chain, expanded our volumes, and scaled up our sustainability operations.
Although ECOM had already been working with Ferrero since 2002, it was through the relationship with Ecookim that we were able to increase and improve our collaboration, combining our respective strengths to make the supply chain more efficient and sustainable.
Over time, integrity has remained at the heart of how we face challenges and move forward together. Whether aligning on traceability and certification requirements, preparing for EUDR compliance, or supporting Ecookim in discussions with clients, transparency has guided every step of the way. They have trusted us enough to share data openly and collaborate closely, and we have matched that trust with accountability and technical support to ensure the integrity and compliance of our supply.
Our collaboration goes beyond business and volumes. Together, we have supported community projects that improve access to education, provide clean water, and promote women’s empowerment, proving that when we share the same values, we create a greater and more lasting impact.
After more than twenty years of partnership, ECOM and Ecookim continue to grow and adapt together. As client expectations evolve, with an increasing focus on sustainability, compliance, traceability, and social impact, integrity and collaboration remain at the heart of how we work. This commitment is what keeps Ferrero choosing ECOM as their preferred supplier, and what makes Ecookim continue to see us as a trusted partner. Integrity builds trust, and trust is what enables all of us to keep growing together.
