In Loving Memory of Dan Luby, 1946 - 2025

Dan Luby worked for ECOM Real Estate Management in Dallas (and its predecessor companies) for over 45 years. He passed away last month at home after a 6-year battle with lung cancer.
As a licensed real estate broker, he was directly involved in nearly every U.S. real estate transaction done by the ECOM Group or our investor clients during his time with the Group. He was much more than a broker – he managed our ranch inventory, supervised the entitlement process for land development, and managed and leased income properties. He had such an interesting and diverse background in real estate – I always learned something from him on every deal. He was very good at sifting through information and pulling out the important facts, allowing for the best possible decisions for our partners and the company.
More importantly, he believed in the power of personal connections and relationships. He was generous with his time and expertise, both with his ECOM colleagues and transactional counterparties. He believed that relationships mattered and in the karma of treating people well. He was a mentor to me and many others in the Dallas office. We will miss him terribly.
